🇮🇳 About MeraHaq

Know Your Rights.
Claim What Is Yours.

MeraHaq is a free, independent platform built to help every Indian citizen find government schemes they qualify for, understand their legal rights, and access the tools they need — without any fees, registration, or complexity.

Why MeraHaq Exists

India has hundreds of central and state government welfare schemes — PM Kisan, Ayushman Bharat, MGNREGA, scholarships, housing schemes, insurance schemes, and many more. Billions of rupees are allocated every year for the benefit of ordinary citizens.

Yet most eligible families never claim these benefits. Not because they don't qualify — but because they don't know these schemes exist, don't understand how to apply, or find the process too confusing.

The same is true for legal rights. Every Indian has constitutional and legal rights — the right to free legal aid, the right to file an RTI, the right to emergency hospital treatment, the right against workplace harassment. Most people never exercise these rights simply because nobody told them they had them.

MeraHaq was built to fix this. We present official government information in plain, simple language — so every Indian, regardless of education level or income, can understand what they are entitled to and how to get it.

Who Runs MeraHaq

MeraHaq was founded by Atharv Bhat, an independent researcher and digital rights advocate based in India, who believes that access to public information is a fundamental right — not a privilege. Editorial Policy
How We Research
Every article is sourced from official government portals (nfsa.gov.in, pmjay.gov.in, uidai.gov.in, voters.eci.gov.in). We cite all sources. Content is reviewed every 3–6 months for accuracy. No affiliate links, no paid placements.
📬
Get in Touch
Open to Feedback
We read every message. If you find an error, want to suggest a scheme, or need help — contact us. Response within 48 hours on working days.

🔍 Research Methodology: MeraHaq researchers read the original government gazette notifications, scheme guidelines, and ministry circulars — not news articles or other websites. All eligibility criteria, application steps, and benefit amounts quoted are taken directly from official sources and linked accordingly. Last site-wide audit: April 2026.

Our Principles

🏛️
Official Sources Only
Every scheme and right links to its official .gov.in source. We never make up information or speculate about government policy.
🔒
Zero Personal Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data. No login required. The Scheme Finder and RTI Tool run entirely in your browser.
🆓
Free Forever
MeraHaq is and will always be completely free to use. Access to information about your rights should never cost money.
🚫
No Government Affiliation
We are fully independent. MeraHaq is not affiliated with any government body, political party, or commercial organisation.
Regular Updates
Government scheme details change frequently. We update our content regularly to reflect the latest official information.
🌐
Plain Language
Government language is complex. We translate it into simple, clear language that anyone — regardless of education — can understand.

How We Stay Free

MeraHaq is a free public service and we intend to keep it that way. To cover the costs of running and maintaining the website, MeraHaq may display advertisements through Google AdSense.

📢 Advertising Disclosure: MeraHaq may display ads served by Google AdSense. These ads are clearly labelled. We do not endorse any advertiser. We do not accept paid content or sponsored placements. All editorial decisions are completely independent of advertisers. Displaying ads allows us to keep MeraHaq 100% free for every Indian user — forever.

We will never: charge users any fee, sell your personal data to advertisers, publish sponsored articles pretending to be independent guides, or accept payment to feature or promote any specific government scheme or service. Our content independence is non-negotiable.
