Aadhaar is the foundation of almost every government service, bank account, and official process in India. If your Aadhaar has an old address — especially if you’ve moved cities for work or marriage — it can cause problems with receiving scheme benefits, opening accounts, and linking to other documents.
The good news: UIDAI allows you to update your address online for just ₹50, without visiting any Aadhaar centre.
What Can You Update Online?
- ✅ Address — online at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in (₹50 fee)
- ✅ Mobile number — at any Aadhaar enrolment centre or bank
- ✅ Email ID — online at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
- ⚠️ Name — must be done at an Aadhaar enrolment centre (cannot be done online)
- ⚠️ Date of birth — once-in-a-lifetime change, only at centre
- ⚠️ Biometrics (fingerprints/iris) — only at centre

Update Mobile Number (Mandatory for Online Services)

Find your nearest enrolment centre at appointments.uidai.gov.in — you can also book an appointment online to avoid waiting.

After your update is processed, download your updated e-Aadhaar (PDF format) for free at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. This is a valid Aadhaar document accepted everywhere. You can also order a physical PVC card for ₹50 from the same portal.
