PM Kisan Samman Nidhi gives ₹6,000 per year — in three installments of ₹2,000 each — directly to eligible farmers’ bank accounts. Crores of farmers are registered, yet millions find that their installments stop coming at some point.

If your PM Kisan installment has not arrived, don’t panic. There are usually a handful of fixable reasons. This guide will help you identify the exact problem and solve it.

Step 1: Check Your Status First

Before anything else, check your PM Kisan payment status online:

  1. Visit pmkisan.gov.in
  2. Click on “Beneficiary Status” (or “Know Your Status”)
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number or mobile number or account number
  4. Click “Get Data”

The page will show your registration status, e-KYC status, and the history of all payments made to your account. Look for any red flags or messages — they usually tell you exactly what the problem is.

The Most Common Reasons Installments Get Stuck

❌ e-KYC Not Completed This is the #1 reason. Since 2022, e-KYC is mandatory for all PM Kisan beneficiaries. Without it, payments are stopped. Fix: Complete e-KYC at pmkisan.gov.in using OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile, or visit any CSC or Gram Panchayat.
❌ Aadhaar Not Linked to Bank Account Your Aadhaar must be linked to the bank account where you want to receive payment. Visit your bank branch with your Aadhaar card and ask them to link it.
❌ Wrong Bank Account Number If your account number was entered incorrectly during registration, payments will fail. Visit your local Patwari or Agriculture office to get the bank details corrected.
❌ Name Mismatch The name in your PM Kisan registration must exactly match your Aadhaar. Even a small spelling difference can block payments. This can be corrected at your local Agriculture Department office.
❌ Land Records Not Updated PM Kisan requires your land to be registered in your name. If land records have not been updated after inheritance or purchase, payments may stop. Visit your Tehsil to update records.
❌ Inactive or Closed Bank Account If your bank account has been closed or frozen due to inactivity, payments will bounce. Re-activate or open a new account and update the details in the PM Kisan portal.

How to Complete e-KYC (Most Important Fix)

Since e-KYC is the most common reason for stuck payments, here is exactly how to do it:

  1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in
  2. Click “e-KYC” in the top menu
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number
  4. Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
  5. Done — your e-KYC is complete

If your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, visit your nearest CSC or Common Service Centre with your Aadhaar card. They will do biometric-based e-KYC on the spot.

Tip: After completing e-KYC, it can take up to 2–4 weeks for the next installment to be released. You will not receive missed installments retroactively — only future ones will be credited.

How to Correct Your Details

If your bank account number, name, or Aadhaar details are wrong in the system, you cannot fix this yourself online. You need to:

State governments manage registrations, so the exact office may vary — in many states it is the Block Agriculture Officer or Village Level Worker (VLW).
