Eligibility Criteria
- Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM) for their first live birth.
- Women who are employed with the Central Government or State Government or Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are excluded.
- Women who are already beneficiaries under any other scheme providing similar benefits are excluded.
Benefits of PMMVY
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, a cash incentive of ₹5,000 is provided in three installments to eligible beneficiaries:
- First Installment (₹1,000): On early registration of pregnancy at the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) / approved Health Facility.
- Second Installment (₹2,000): After at least one antenatal check-up (ANC) and six months of pregnancy.
- Third Installment (₹2,000): After child birth is registered and the child has received the first cycle of BCG, OPV, DPT and Hepatitis-B or its equivalent/substitute doses.
The cash incentive is directly transferred to the beneficiary's bank/post office account.
How to Apply
- Registration: Register at the nearest Anganwadi Centre (AWC) or approved health facility within the first 150 days of pregnancy.
- Form Submission: Fill out Form 1A (Registration Form) along with required documents.
- Antenatal Check-up: Ensure you undergo at least one antenatal check-up (ANC) to be eligible for the second installment.
- Child Birth & Immunization: Register the child's birth and ensure the child receives the first cycle of immunization.
